| There is lots to do here. Here are some things, in order of coolness that might surprise you. (If you drink alcohol, work on your stamina. The activities during the morning and day are as cool as the music at night! And if your brought the little ones...they will have a great time!) You must... Make the wedding. Catch a show at Club 300 and meet the Rose of New Orleans Eat a Beinet at Cafe Dumonde Ride an Airboat in the Swamp...see any brochure outlet, make a reservation...and go. It only takes two hours but it's the coolest thing to do. ASK FOR THE SMALLEST SIZE BOAT and say hello to Bobby Bouche' when you see him. This weekend in the French Quarter is the TOMATO FESTIVAL Yup, we have our own brand of tomatoes and it's a good enough reason to party. The festival will go on all weekend at the French Market in the Quarter The Zydeco Festival Great Louisianna Music going on this weekend here, too. FLAG DAY (You know, the day WWII ended) We are home to the National WWII museum and worth a visit and only a couple blocks from Club 300. Civil War Museum Directly Across from the WWII Museum. Family Stuff a Block from Club 300 Take a Buggy Ride Visit the IMAX and see Hurricane on the Bayou See the New Orleans Aquarium/Zoo in the same complex as the IMAX For Mom... Take a walk throught the shops on the Riverwalk The Chippendales are in town...just kidding. For those with more time. Play golf at TPC, home of the Zurich Classic Visit any of the Bayou Mansions (takes most of a day). Ride the Natchez River Boat for a dinner cruise with the Duke of Dixieland. Whew! |
